Jim Vincent Jim Vincent, Senior Managing Director – Reznick Restructuring Solutions
Jim Vincent has over 25 years in significant business leadership positions with some of the industry’s leading real estate financiers and financial service firms. Throughout his career, Jim has built multi-million dollar growth platforms, repositioned businesses and achieved significant cost savings at Fortune 500 industry leaders including GE Capital, Capital One Financial and Bank of New York. Significant positions include: SVP / Managing Director and founder of GE Capital Real Estate Capital Markets group, and President of BNY Asset Solutions. Specific highlights include:

  • Lead partner on corporate restructuring services to 45 member term loan lender of $850MM on $4B finance company
  • Consulted on over $3B in debt workouts / restructurings for real estate developers.
  • Firm expert for Kenneth Leventhal for troubled financial institutions and regulatory forbearance agreements and business plans; including three multi-billion dollar thrifts.   Assisted investors evaluate acquisitions of troubled thrifts under Southwest Plan.
  • Ran and turned around BNY Asset Solutions (Bank of New York subsidiary), a $16B rated Master / Special Servicer, which also included oversight of the distressed asset investment and recovery business with a leading investment bank.
  • Acquisition due diligence on over 15 corporate acquisitions and over $17B in commercial real estate valuations and purchase due diligence.
  • Started three commercial mortgage conduits at Heller, Nomura and GE
  • Acquired over $830MM of subordinate and mezzanine CMBS as principal for GE
  • Bid on over $8B of distressed commercial real estate loans at GE, Nomura, Heller

David KesslerDavid Kessler, CPA, Bethesda Co-Office Managing Principal – Reznick Group
David Kessler serves as the Co-Managing Principal of Reznick Group’s Bethesda office and on the firm’s Operating Committee. In addition, he chairs the firm’s National Commercial Real Estate Practice. David has more than 24 years of experience providing audit, tax and management advisory services to the real estate industry, representing clients both locally and nationally.

He represents both public and private clients, including developers, real estate funds, mortgage companies, owners, management companies, investors, REITs, private equity and hedge funds, and government agencies. His clients operate and develop hotels, multi-family rentals, condo conversions, office buildings, nursing homes, land development, retail, military housing and industrial.

David is responsible for all aspects of audit and management advisory service engagements including the planning and coordination with the client’s finance and management personnel, and internally at Reznick Group. He has extensive technical and practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), and OMB Circular A-133.

David received a B.S. in Accounting from  is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University where he teaches a real estate accounting course for the Masters of Real Estate Development graduate programs. He has spoken at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants real estate conference and speaks frequently at various real estate industry conferences.

Mark EinsteinMark Einstein, CPA, Principal – Reznick Group
Mark Einstein is Reznick Group's National Director of Tax and Real Estate.  He has more than 25 years of experience providing tax consulting and real estate consulting to national and local clients. These clients include those who own, operate, invest and manage all types of real estate assets.

Mark assists investors and developers in structuring their real estate transactions in the most tax efficient structure.  Over his career he has also been involved in designing workout structures for developers, including tax issues related to debt forgiveness. The structures sometimes include the use of various tax credits, both federal and state. Credits structures include federal and state rehabilitation credits, federal and state low income housing tax credits, New Markets tax credits and energy tax credits.

Mark is a frequent speaker at national real estate conferences on a range of tax and accounting subjects.
